How To Care For Your
New Tattoo1st Month:
If second skin was used to bandage;
Leave on for 2-4 days or until the second skin peels up and exposes ANY part of the tattoo.
If excessive redness or itchiness occurs, particularly around the edges of the second skin, remove immediately. Some general redness is normal.
Removal is easiest to do in a warm shower. Starting at the bottom, slowly and carefully peel the bandage down, parallel to the skin. You should be peeling at an acute angle to the skin. Do not peel away from the skin.
If plastic wrap was used to bandage;
Remove same day, up to 12 hours max.
Once bandage is removed, wash gently with neutral, unscented soap (avoid antibacterial) and warm water. Pat dry with a clean towel.
Apply a very thin layer of aquaphor for the first few days, then switch to an unscented lotion. Just enough to moisturize, apply sparingly!
After ~1 week you will notice some peeling and flaking. This is normal.
Continue washing and moisturizing:
-Week 1-2: 2x per day
-Week 3-4: 1x per day
Avoid bathtubs, hot tubs, swimming pools, and natural bodies of water.
Keep your tattoo covered and out of the sun.
Don’t scratch or pick at your tattoo.
After 1 Month
Use a high SPF sunscreen to keep your tattoo looking crisp.
